This book does not belong to the ordinary run of anthologies but is a masterful selection by an author who has given many years to his work. The 1500 quotations from a wide range of Puritans have been chosen with great care, and arranged under topical headings. They form an ideal introduction to the writings of the great and godly men of the 17th century, and will prove to be devotional reading of the highest quality. Those who are already familiar with the Puritan writings will find the ‘Treasury‘ to be a perfect stimulus to further reading.

About the Author

Dr. I. D. E. (Isaac David Ellis) Thomas was born in Carmarthenshire, Wales and held three pastorates in his native land – at Amman Valley, Caernarvon and Llanelli (Zion Baptist Chapel) – before spending ten years conducting preaching missions in Europe, the U.S.A. and Canada. He also served as a commentator for the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation).

He is currently the Senior Minister of the First Baptist Church of Maywood, California, where he has been for over thirty years. Dr Thomas is on the faculty of the California Pacific School of Theology and Pacific International University. He is the author of several books, including A Puritan Golden Treasury, published by the Trust in its Puritan Paperbacks series.
