About the Author

Diana Severance (PhD, Rice University) is curator of the Bible in America Museum at Houston Baptist University, and Adjunct Professor of History at LeTourneau University. She’s a frequent writer on Christian history. She has contributed to Faith of God and Generals , co-authored with her husband Against the Gates of Hell: The Life and Times of Henry Perry, a Christian Missionary in a Muslim World, and also wrote A Cord of Three Strands: Three Centuries of Christian Love Letters.
