Dr. I. D. E. (Isaac David Ellis) Thomas was born in Carmarthenshire, Wales and held three pastorates in his native land – at Amman Valley, Caernarvon and Llanelli (Zion Baptist Chapel) – before spending ten years conducting preaching missions in Europe, the U.S.A. and Canada. He also served as a commentator for the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation).He was the Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Maywood, California for over thirty years, and then Pastor Emeritus of United Community Church in Glendale, CA. He passed away on August 28, 2013. He was the author of several books, including A Puritan Golden Treasury, published by the Trust in its Puritan Paperbacks series.
